What is Pilates?A Functional movement technique which involves focused exercises to improve strength, flexibility, posture, balance, range of movement and body awareness. It can also involve the use of specially designed equipment and apparatus, such as reformer, chi-ball, magic circle and many more. Contemporary pilates methodology is a progression and adaptation of the work by Joseph Pilates who developed a system of floor work and spring-based apparatus exercises in the 1920s.
